Fasten Your seat belts guys, HERE IT COMES!

The U.S general Accounting Office (GAO) report, solicited by the U.S Congress, is soon to be released!

According to Luis Benitez, former president of the economist association said the report will be a SURPRISE!

Congress solicited the report to look into the possibility that Statehod can be an option in a future plebiscite, however preliminary leaks point to the report as saying, ""Puerto Rico should begin looking at the possibility of FUNCTIONING BY ITSELF!"

According to Luis Benitez, "statehooders should start packing up their bags because it will be the news of the century. "

Benitez said his sources within the GAO signaled that in some ways the report will favor the possibility of Puerto Rico becoming more Independent from the United States.

"The Gao will bring the news that the minority will be turned into the majority very quickly." The economic report will be more than a year overdue but is expected to be released before the years end.

Discussing this over a few beers with several guys in my home town, they were incredulous! "The U.S. will NEVER let us go BECAUSE THE MAJORITY HERE DOESN'T WANT IT" they said.

They have to do what the majority wants and that means STAY and make us a state, that is why America is the most Democratic country on earth."

When I told them that it will depend on American INTERESTS vs. Ours and that Empires do as they please, they said I was a Communist.

You'll see they all said, "we'll become a state depite what they want, that is what democracy is all about, the rule of the majority."

MMMMM, I guess you can't argue with this one, I then asked for the check.

Yes, cut the cord, even if the price of beer goes up, and the birthgiver
has to cut the cord with her teeth. There is no place for the parasites
who sit on their behinds and expect to be given and not do anything
independently. Get a life, and stop being parasites if you know what is
good for you.

I would not hold my breath on this report if it ever comes out. The Populares will cry wolf and not want to accept anything that is close to independence. They want to continue to receive the benefits they get now. As you know they have tried to get more federal benefits and continue to be or get more powers for the so-called commonwealth. A pipe-dream that is impossible for economical reasons and which would alienate other states and territories. Those who believe in statehood will lobby for keeping the island the way it is, why lose an inkling of hope? The only ones that will lobby in favor will be the independentistas. I do not believe anything would come out of this report. Congress is the one that will make the decision for the islanders. In my opinion, Puerto Rico needs a reality check. They need to be weaned off the dependence bottle and grow up. I fear that it will not be soon. If the folks in the island want to continue to live under the American flag then can always hop on a plane and live in any of the states. I personally do not believe that people that do not feel American or part of the nation should not continue to live off the taxpayers and take a hike. I would give it its walking papers and wish it good luck!

Who is it? No need to get down and dirty about the problem of parasitism.
On the contrary, the Puertorriquenos lived for 5 centuries without any
welfare or dependency of any type. With the invasion of the U.S. that
changed, because of the social conditions of dependency which the U.S.
created by giving "hand outs". This created in turn the social consciousness
of the Puertorriquenos that resulted in parasitism. And most of these
parasites support statehood in order to insure that they continue
receiving the 'chequito'. And let's not forget that not all that receive
public assistance are parasites, no indeed, they are not since many are
disabled persons who need the assistance because they are not able
to work. And who the hell has the right to give Puertorriquenos
their "walking papers" or force them to take a "hike" from the land in
which they were born? That's dirty, and dictatorial, and we don't
need any such type of one-man rule dictatorships (which has been the
bane of most Latin American countries). And don't think for one moment
that certain Puerto Ricans don't have the will to be arrogant despicable
dictators!

Unless the puertoricans put preassure and insist.

I doubt we'll have a "golpe de estado", because in the end, regardless what the anti-puertorican sentiment may be, we are a peaceful people.

The problem is that all three camps will not demand as one voice. I have seen the PIP and PNP almost agree on many things when it comes to the status problem, but the PPD either will not agree or runs to the local Supreme Court (which is packed with their folks) and get their way. I do not care what the political situation is in Puerto Rico because I have come to the conclusion that those on the Island do not want to move forward. The PPD will continue to dream of the “best of both worlds” and Congress will just put it on the backburner and make believe it doesn’t exist. They lack political inertia and are stagnated until Kingdom comes!
