"Miranda, people think the cold war is over but when you look at Chavez, Fidel, Evo, N. Korea, and China, the chapter is still not over though you may think so."
What I said still holds water. At the present, the only potential threat to the U.S is China. But if you've seen and read what is happening there lately, China is not a threat because of its Communist ideology, its a threat because it will soon be competing with India and the U.S. for oil resources. Todays China is surely not the China of Mao or the China of the The Cuban exiles of the 1950's. Shanghi and Peking has more skyscrapers, shopping malls and cars than five American cities combined. Communism, yeah right!
Chavez, Fidel and Evo are all small time politi-cuchos, more like those of a low budget Hollywood movie. None of them are a threat to the U.S. In the coming years you might hear Cuban exiles screaming to the bottom of their lungs about Chavez, Fidel and Evo but in reality the U.S has its mind on more important things like dwinling oil resources and what to do with an exploding national budget crisis.
North korea is a joke, however they were smart enough to develop the bomb when they did. The simple fact that they have a third rate bomb has kept Gringos at bay.
Iranians look at how N. Korea is treated with kid gloves and have figured out that respect is only gotten with an atomc fire cracker. Sad but true, wouldn't you want the bomb if you were an Iranian? A look at the resource war going on next door in Iraq has set them thinking. Unless you are one of those dumb Cubans exiles, do you really think we are in Iraq to offer them the blessings of Democracy? Its the OIL DUMMY, and Iranians know that too! If you still believe the garbage about Democracy and Freedom as the reasons we are in Iraq, then we are done with this discussion.
