The shell is broken
Nacionalista said:
"We have freedom inside the egg shell. I want Puerto Rico to break that shell." ![]() -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Believe it not the shell is cracked. Now-a-days Puerto Rico is like Humpty Dumpty who fell off the wall, he could never be put back together again. As of the lately there is a power struggle within the PPD ranks to define itself with a non colonial status, meaning Free Association Anibalito and co. rejects anything that has to do with messing up the colonial status, but I think its too late, the dice is thrown. Recent developments on the island and in Washington point to a show down. Maybe it will be when the U.N. General assembly finally takes on the P.R case in September. On another note, this evening Miss Puerto Rico won the Miss Universe contest and it was the first time a mix blood beauty represented us. It was also the first time in memory that a contestant didn't speak English. MMMM things are changing. We are at last showing the Gringos who we are! For Sally and Bill from Nebraska or Idaho watching this " questionable american" must have been an eye opener. I wonder what they might say if Puerto Rico asked for statehood? LOL |

Its time to think 201
It is true that in Puerto Rico the attitude was to not bite the hand that fed you, ignoring the fact that in the U.S. you get respect if you respect yourself.
In many ways that attitude still prevails among many Puerto Ricans specially among those who do not want the boat rocked, the problem is that the boat must be rocked because like they say it is the squeaky wheel that gets the grease. I also agree that radicalism in any form is wrong whether it is Islamic,Christian,or Jewish,it can also appear in politics such as the semi-fascist right wing republicans, and the ultra-liberal anything goes democrats. Sadly we are stuck with a president that has no clue our foreign policy is in shambles,Israelis taking advantage of this and vow to destroy the hezbollah even if it kills every last Lebanese and the idiot in chief smiles and says nothing. I think its time to move Puerto Rico towards independence and get away from the cowboy diplomacy that has been a disaster to the world, and open economic ties with others around the world and not humbly stand in the shadows hoping for crumbs to fall. |

A couple of questions as to specificity, first by "semi-fascist right wing republicans" do you refer to the libertarian engendered anarcho-fascist movement in the Republican Party known as the NEO CONS? And second, by "ultra-liberal anything goes democrats" do you refer to those liberals who use sex and violence claiming that such is the common ground that unites all humans in society? And when you said "that radicalism in any form is wrong" is that not in contradiction with what you said that Puerto Ricans "must rock the boat" (perhaps like LFM does) to problem solve the ISSUE created by the unincorporated territorial status the U.S. uses to continue holding Puerto Rico as a U.S. possession, and which shows no sign of changing, even in the face of the upcoming discussion of Puerto Rico's status in the United Nations Committee on Decolonialisation? Depending on your answers to these questions, I can make an evaluation of whether or not your political point of view is a step up from Miranda's 101 views, which he always puts forward in one form or another, with the same agenda repeated again and again -- ad nauseaum. ![]()

Eddie, basically, you are a Marxist/Communist. Anything that favors free markets, freedom to worship, and gives individual rights and sanctity versus mind control of the masses via taking individualism away and putting them all under a police state... is not acceptable to you. You believe in taking individual freedoms away from people and then saying that you give them "Power" and give them "control" when, in reality, you put a few thugs that are power hungry, hate God, and want a lavish lifestyle... you put them in power. That's your drug... Power! Come out and admit it!

Miranda, Juliany y el Pornorican: they hate their own people and country.
