Since I have read about that, because I have monitored the situation in Iraq dating from the days of the great UN inspector Hans Blix. He found, or was shown, those chemical weapons, and found them to be 'caducado' no longer useable as chemical weapons deteriorate rapidly. How Iraq got those weapons, I am not sure, but my suspicion is that Iraq had mobile labs with scientists in communication with U.S. experts in biological warfare, such as gave Sadam the new mustard gas that he used on the Kurds -- what the U.S. scientists wanted was to test the new variant of mustard gas, and conned Sadam by saying that it was a police action weapon to control rioting and other public disorder by the Kurds. It turned out instead to be lethal, and the results were gotten for the scientists, while Sadam was played for a patsy -- duped he turned totally against the U.S.. You know how it goes fool a person once then for shame on the deciever, but fool a person twice then for shame on the dupe.

As for your toying around with hints that I am unpatriotic and against the American soldiers, you are barking up the wrong tree. I have total respect for the U.S. Marine Corps, and am neutral towards the standard armed forces. I saw what the Marines could do on Iwo Jima, and also what they as a branch of the U.S. navy did in helping to save the INTREPID aircraft carrier after the kamikazi attacks on it in the Corel Sea. The great vessel now, as you well know, is a great monument to the courage of those who fought to defend and save her, and is berthed in NYC on the Hudson for all to visit and enjoy.

You do speak true that I am gorkyized -- a Russian word for "embittered". And I have my well founded reasons for being that way ....don't you think, concie?

Perhaps some day we will break bread together, but as for now I am limited in travel by my political distresses.

On the waterfront, now concie, a new office -- well fine, and I am optimistic that it will turn out good for you.

P.S. don't let up on your writing of poetry. You got a gift for it that should be exercised somewhat each and every day.

Eddie is right about your poetry writing Conciencia. It is outstanding and you should do it more often here on pr.com.

May I make a quick comment and leave you gentleman to talk about the Iraqi war?

Eddie might think he is 'gorkyized'? I don't agree. Ha sufrido en cantidad. True. But he is not gorkyized at all, if he inspires "Capullito de Aleli" in people. Lol. Ese sentido del humor que tiene el Senor Eddie y el 'jijiji'. I read a brief history of Rutger's in the thirties when he might have attended, especially the philosophy department, I think it was called "Queen's College" or something then. I wish I had his great memory too! Tiene cualidades envidiables el. I bought a big stack of books that he has mentioned over the years. He is better than any fancy private college professor for recommending reading with depth. And I like his home remedies a lot!!

To keep things on topic, what he mentioned about the chemical weapons is accurate. All those weapons are controlled by a certain group of people and they all wheel and deal allover the world in it.

Adios a los caballeros.

Suki

Suki, thank you for your kind words, and I wish it wasn't so that I am embittered. But as you know from former conversation, I was in need of treatment at the Swedish Clinic for Victims of Torture many years ago. It is always better to know Suki no matter how trying it is to stand the truth. I say no more about that since I am sure you will recall although you say your memory is not what you wish.

Now, here is the latest on the police state, and yes it includes references to the use of torture by current rulers in Waahington, D.C.. The latest breaking news involves Bush "fessing up" to what he has denied in the past. And note how he contradicts himself in his confession, first saying that secret prisons by the cia exists and they use torture, and then in the latter part of his white paper confession says that it isn't torture.

The man is besides himself, and this latest coupled with the imprimator being placed on freedom of speech has just about done his presidency in. I think the best thing he can do is to resign the presidency rather than continue having to make a fool of himself before the entire world.

Following is the press release of his "confession":

Quote:
Bush acknowledges existence of secret CIA prisons and says terrorist suspects sent to Guantanamo.

Wednesday, September 6, 2006
WASHINGTON - President George W. Bush on Wednesday acknowledged the existence of previously secret CIA prisons around the world, and said 14 high-value terrorism suspects - including the mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks - have been transferred from this system to the military prison at Guantanamo Bay for eventual trials.

He said the "small number" of detainees that have been kept in CIA custody include people responsible for the bombing of the warship USS Cole in 2000 in Yemen and the 1998 attacks on U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, in addition to the 2001 attacks.

"The most important source of information on where the terrorists are hiding and what they are planning is the terrorists themselves," Bush said in a White House speech with families of those killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks making up part of the audience. "It has been necessary to move these individuals to an environment where they can be held in secret, questioned by experts and, when appropriate, prosecuted for terrorist acts."

The announcement from Bush is the first time the administration has acknowledged the existence of Central Intelligence Agency, which have been a source of friction between Washington and some allies in Europe. The administration has come under criticism for its treatment of terrorism detainees. European Union lawmakers said the CIA was conducting clandestine flights in Europe to take terror suspects to countries where they could face torture.

Bush said the CIA program has involved such suspected terrorists as Khalid Sheik Mohammed, believed to be the No. 3 al-Qaida leader before he was captured in Pakistan in 2003; Ramzi Binalshibh, an alleged would-be Sept. 11, 2001, hijacker; Abu Zubaydah, who was believed to be a link between Osama bin Laden and many al-Qaida cells before he was also captured in Pakistan, in March 2002.

The list also includes Riduan Isamuddin, known additionally as Hambali, who was suspected of being Jemaah Islamiyah's main link to al-Qaida and the mastermind of a string of deadly bomb attacks in Indonesia until his 2003 arrest in Thailand.

Defending the program, the president said the questioning of these detainees has provided critical intelligence information about terrorist activities that have enabled officials to prevent attacks not only in the United States, but Europe and other countries. He said the program has been reviewed by administration lawyers and been the subject of strict oversight from within the CIA.

Bush would not detail the type of interrogation techniques that are used through the program, saying they are tough but do not constitute torture.

"This program has helped us to take potential mass murderers off the streets before they have a chance to kill," the president said. "It is invaluable to America and our allies."

The president's announcement, which the White House touted beforehand and asked to be televised live on the networks, comes as Bush has sought with a series of speeches to sharpen the focus on national security two months before high-stakes congressional elections in November.

The president successfully emphasized the war on terror in his re-election campaign in 2004 and is trying to make it a winning issue again for Republicans this year.

The president said the 14 key terrorist leaders, including Mohammed, Binalshibh, and Zubaydah, that have been transferred to the the U.S. military-run prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, would be afforded some legal protections consistent with the Geneva conventions.

"They will continue to be treated with the humanity that they denied others," Bush said.

Bush also laid out his proposal for how trials of such key suspected terrorists - those transferred to Guantanamo and already there - should be conducted, which must be approved by Congress. Bush's original plan for the type of military trials used in the aftermath of World War II was struck down in June by the Supreme Court, which said the tribunals would violate U.S. and international law.

Aides said the legislation being sent to Congress later Wednesday insisted on military tribunals in which evidence would be withheld from a defendant if necessary to protect classified information.

Eddie,
I remember everything. I do. In fact something I realized about you and your experiences helped me enormously to deal with a personal problem I had to cope with that if I had not spoken to you and tried to understand all your writings all these years it would have been IMPOSSIBLE for me to have coped with it. But because I have read and given your experiences as well as your thoughts about life (wise that you are) in your senior years the appropriate concentration and attention, I was able to really deal with the crisis. Yes, Eddie, knowing you literally saved my life and affected a decision that turned out to be one of the most important if not the most important one I have ever taken in my life (and curiously it had nothing to do with Politics). I hope you email me again someday and I might tell you in a better setting how that happened. But if you don't, just know that your contributions on this fora, whether you remain or not has helped enormously in the most unexpected ways. Sometimes I think writing and communicating and expressing ideas Eddie is FREEDOM and SURE FREEDOM because the MIND and the world of thought is the beginning of EVERYTHING in human societies.

You say that you are embittered and must face that about yourself and accept it as such. Leticia g is gone. She has so many responsibilities. I hope she returns someday. I miss her already. I am going to try to get her back. One of her finest qualities was being able to be compassionate and understanding and empathetic with many people. That is a good quality to have.

All of us sometimes look back on our lives and question what all that pain and suffering was about. Most of it is about attachment. Attachment to what one wants to happen. And when it doesn't happen, the disappointment of all that lost potential, lost opportunities and lost efforts are EMBITTERING. Plus, having to have sacrificed so much, to see others savagely throw it all away with their carelessness and no consciousness of what is happening or what they are doing is also devastating. But, for you Senor I can tell you with absolute confidence. EVERYDAY of your life even in pain, and darkness and suffering and trouble---HAS BEEN MEANINGFUL ALL ON ITS OWN AND HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE. It has. No lo dudes nunca Senor Eddie.

Life goes by so quickly and it seems like a dream at times. But just struggling through it and living it for the whole and not the one, makes it all worthwhile in the end. I know you understand me.

In terms of Bush. There is no such thing as world domination or absolute control of anything. Too many variables in life. There are the tides of change only---and there is an expiration date for it all. One only knows though that with each step taken, even though there may be setbacks, eventually wisdom grows and with it---the hope for something better.

I can't say all that I really think now. It is not meant for public fora. Just for something less 'popular'.

I hope we grow out of the Middle Ages. And become enlightened species finally. All the barbarism only makes things worse.

Suki.
