Hi there folks!

Feliz Navidad. This Christmas is very, very hard for me---I have to make an effort for my son. But my heart is not in it. So, I have decided to cook for some homeless youths and make a nice Puerto Rican Christmas dinner at a shelter for them. They have had boxed Macaroni and Cheese and some chicken wings in Christmas past and they never heard of Arroz con Gandules, Pernil (with bitter orange juice oregano garlic etc. marinade and served in banana leaves), and Tropical Fruit Punch and platanitos asados con almibar, and made from scratch Strawberry Cakes. So that is what I am doing right now. Frosting Strawberry Cakes I made.

My mother never let people eat junk on special occasions. She hated junk food.

One of her friends sent me in her memory a 2008 planner with kids from all over the world in each month. It is good to keep the good memories of Christmas.

Thanks Jane. I have heard that 2008 is supposed to be a really good year for people born on my day. I hope that is true. I bought and wrapped my little boy's Christmas present today. I think he will love it. My husband got some books. I hope he likes them.

Lots of love.

Have a very "FELIZ NAVIDAD" Jane.

Suki
