Question

President elect Bush has just nominated Linda Chavez for secretary of Labor. Linda is well known in the Hispanic community for having presided English Now, championed to get rid of welfare for the poor, specifically Hispanics, worked hand in hand with Pat Buchanan in the Reagan White House and is rabildly against Statehood for Puerto Rico.

Any opinions on this Latina?

Oh man, gracias para la ocasion! I was thinking of writing something about this PINCHE MUJER! I saw the other topic about her and was going to go there, but came here first. Thanks.

Well well well -- La Linda. Another piece of recycled garbage from way back when in the Reagan days. This baby bush dude has no imagination, nada, he keeps having to recycle stuff. That is probably what he did at Yale, that's what got him through, constantly recycling the term papers and projects of other people from many moons ago!

Listen, in terms of these Latinos and blacks on his cabinet, I don't care what color they are, if they're NOT WITH US -- THEY'RE NOT WITH US. Are those peeps of color with "us" or with Bush? You know there were even Jewish people who colarborated w/the Nazis and got there's in the end. And hitting closer to home, there have been lots of "Latinos" who butchered there own people, Pinochet is a Chileno, is he not? The Somosas in Nicaragua were Nicas were they not? The people running the 'dirty wars' in Argentina were Argentinos tambien. But funny thing is, they also happened to be in the pockets of the ruling elite from that big English speaking state to the north -- and I don't mean Canada. No they weren't with their own people. That is why they had the odasity they butchered so many of their own people.

Does Linda Chavez impress me at all. Not in the least -- esa cabrona infeliz insults the hell out of me. I don't want her anywhere near me! Bush thinks it's just easier to have her tell us not to speak Spanish and to be against any type of career and education assistance through affirmative action, and anything that lets life be a little fairer for people from poor working backgrounds, particularly Hispanos. I think at present, the working poor in this country are mainly made up of Hispanos, so it was quite a strategic move for baby Bush to roll out this PINCHE COCONUT! [she may look dark on the outside but she's all white on the inside]

Linda personally, well her mom is NOT MEXICANA, her mom is an Anglo/Irish lady. Linda herself has spent no time at all in Latinoamerica. And the man she married is also NOT LATINO -- HE'S SOME WHITE DUDE. Not that any of that should be held against her, but the thing is, she is being rolled out as this SUPER CHICANA, making all of us think she listens to Thalia all day long while she makes tamales for her Latino Papi husband, THAT IS NOT THE CASE AT ALL -- HER MOM DIDN'T EVEN MAKE TAMALES -- OK!!!!!!!!!!!! The point is she is not what she should be politically and she is NOT EVEN WHAT WE ARE LEAD TO BELIEVE SHE IS CULTURALLY. SHE'S NOT ABOUT ANY OF THAT!

ESA PINCHE MUJER ES UNA TROJAN HORSE, su propia madre NO ES LATINA de nada ni mangos, y su esposo NO ES LATINO, BUT THE WORSE PART OF IT IS THAT --- SHE IS NOT WITH US PHILOSOPHICALLY -- SHE IS WITH ESE GRUPO DE EMBECILES!!!!!

ALSO -- ESA PINCHE MUJER NEEDS TO STOP USING HER DAD'S SURNAME CHAVEZ, AND BE TRUE TO THE PROGRAM AND USE HER WHITE HUBBY'S NAME - BERTRAND -- OR SOME ANGLO STUFF LIKE THAT!

HER USE OF THE SURNAME CHAVEZ IS A HUGE INSULT
TO EL COMPANERO CESAR CHAVEZ - GOD BLESS HIM
AND ALSO TO EL PRESIDENTE HUGO CHAVEZ!

Compaņeros Puerto Riceņos that is what I think straight from the mouth of la coctelita -- Amira, to Orisha's ears, to the ears of the 7 African saints, and to the ears of Guadalupe y Dios.

[I am sorry this idiota Linda is trying to speak for Puerto Riceņos. Let her know if there are many Chicanos and Mexicanos here on the west coast and southwest that feel she cannot speak for us, then I would think she certainly cannot speak for Boricuas!]

Feliz Aņo Nuevo

Un Abrazo fuerte!

Thanks for the illuminating response coctelita, and my best wishes to you and yours for a happy new year too.

Let me answer Miranda's query also by saying that the new Secretary of Labor, if she gets confirmed that is by the investigating congressional committee, will be a "POKE IN THE EYE OF ORGANIZED LABOR", and as her being good for the Hispanics it ought to be remembered that not only did she change from being a member of the Democratic Party, which has been traditionally supported by the majority of the Hispanos, and became a Republican but also she who touts herself as an hispana and a top spokesperson for hispanos is a person WHO CAN'T EVEN SPEAK SPANISH!

In fact, President "to be" Bush, compared to Linda is fluent in the Spanish language. I suspect that when his dad was the head of the C.I.A. before he became the President, he saw to it that his son George "Dubya" learned how to speak the Spanish language. Now I wonder what is the good of it when he makes appointments like this one when he knows how much she is against bilinqual education and the learning of the Spanish language too. Hmmmm...

Chavez es acusada

Linda Chavez,

Es acusada de tener ama de casa en su hogar y pagarle como esclavo ademas de violar leyes federales. Chavez admitio la acusacion y esta expuesta a no ser nombrada legalmente.

Well Chavez resigned from the offer. That is great news and I'm sure all of you are happy. Afterall, "no hay mal que por bien no venga'. Anyone that does anything wrong whether intensionally or not should say it right away because the press is always looking for garbage to dig on political people.

I agree Leticia

I would not want to run for any office, because I'd hate to be slapped with all the foolishness of my youth. It doesn't seem to matter if you've had 20 years of good decision making and moral living. It's always those bad decisions made when you were young and naive that come back and bite you in the butt.
