>>>>>>"What the title should have been is that IN LOTS OF WAYS STATES RIGHTS DON'T GO FAR ENOUGH."<<<<<<
Precisely. The States were to retain their Soveringty concerning INSULAR matters: James Madison Federalist 45.12: "The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State." http://www.law.emory.edu/FEDERAL/fed...t/feder45.html |

I am an independentista and liberal to a point but when
I read about people who support Mumia Abu Jamal it makes me sick,he is not a victim of politics he is a murderer he gunned down a police officer in cold blood, people who support him are not familiar with this case,I live in Philly I followed this case and his nutty back to nature group "MOVE" who were rejected by the african american community here in Philly when you see protest in support of Mumia here in Philly these people come in a bus from outside the city. Please let us not join our cause with his we will loose credibility. By the way the police officer's name was Daniel Faulkner and he was married and had a family who loved him and was doing his job when Mumia stood over him and murdered him. |
