To Mike Coordero and Whomever it may Concern:
Coordero, you rejected statehooders at the front door, now be cautious that you don't let them in through the backdoor, or worst through the kitchen of the Puerto Rican family. It's valuable to seek compromises sometimes, but when you are dealing with convicted imperialists look out that they don't steal the nails from your cross. Sure we ought to give our Puertorriquenos what they want, but not all want to retain a second-class citizenship imposed by those imperialists. Even if 90% want that citizenship, the future Independent gov't would not stand in their way if they wanted to immigrate to the U.S.. They got 50 states to choose from. And know this the Independent gov't would not strip them of their second class citizenships; its the u.S. gov't that you have to be wary of; the U.S. congress are looking for scapegoats, and they would fit the bill. Know also that, if hypothetically 90% would go to the States, that would leave 10% who wanted Puerto Rican citizenship and that would amount to a population of approx. 380, 000 in P.R, making it easier to feed them and to give them whatever services the P.R. gov't found necessary. Such a population would be over 3 times as many as there were in 1898, which then was about 187,000 by the "census" the U.S. military governor took after the Spanish-American War. So you see we are better off even with 3 times as many now; and also, since the U.S. gov't has committed moral outrages and international violations like in Vieques, the U.S. has forfeited all rights to lands in P.R., even though they payed a pittance for it when the Yanqui Tugwell was the governor in P.R.. We will not give up any of our people who want to apply for Puerto Rican citizenship; those that don't apply for it will be given 3 months residency visas to decide, and at the end of that time if they will not accept P.R. citizenship they will have to leave P.R. for whereever they want to go, which in all probablity will be to the States of the U.S. in the North. Bye and good-riddence to them I shall say. We don't need vendepatrias like that even though theoretically it will amount to about between 50 to 90% of the present population in P.R. We can't compromise on our Sovereignty nor on our loyalty to our Isla-Nacion de Puerto Rico, Vieques, y los otros Terrunos de Borinquen. Take care and exercise Caution Mike, EddieR #1 [This message has been edited by Eddier1 (edited 20 August 2000).] |

Mike,
Now do you see why is it that many of the people of Puerto Rico are not so interested in independence. It is these very extremist that call themselves nationalist that maintain our people divided. What is this about a 3 month visa to decide whether you in or your out is this what independence will do? Now I understand what El Criollo has been talking about a Cuba like island. So it now comes to light that this is the plan, to exile 50 - 90% of Puerto Ricans so that this so called full fledged socialist republic can then take care of an estimate of 380,000 is this truely the intention of the PIP? This is truely a master piece plan but again it was never the intention of this political party to take care of the Puerto Rican people. |

To Whom it May Concern, We Independentists support the freedom of choice of the People. A 3 months visa is sufficient time for any person who has an ounce of reason and civic responsibility to make a decision as to whether or not such person wants to accept Puerto Rican citizenship or retain the second-class citizenship of the U.S.. This is entirely a matter of the internal affairs of Puerto Rico, and should not be compared to what any other foreign nation has done or may do. There are certain persons, who are procrastinators by disposition, in short they waver in their decisions and can't come to a decision. The door is open to them who are like that. But they can return to P.R. anytime by obtaining a tourist card for a limited time if they so wish. We the Independentists do not and will not deny anybody the right to travel by refusing to accept their passports or tourist cards. Now those who are inimical to the best interests of Puerto Rico, that is , who want to stir up trouble in Puerto Rico will be classified as undesireables and will be denied any access to Puerto Rico. This is a matter of national security for our Island-Nation. We the Independentists are the ones who have the best interests, safety, dignity, and general welfare of the Puertorriquenos as our ultimate objectives. EddieR #1 ![]() |

To whom ever,
It is funny they way national security, best interest of the people are thrown around here but if I am not mistaken this is the very same way that dictatorships are setup by using words like the peoples revolution while the person who sits on the mighty chair becomes fat and rich. It is also humorous they way 4 - 10% will out voice 90 - 96% of the people and think that this will be done just by the stroke of a pen. People these are the friends of Puerto Rico these are the ones that have the best interest of our people, with friends like this who needs enemies. Well all I can say to this is, the elections are just around the corner we will see what will be chosen by the people and for the people. God bless us all!!! |

Well, I have to say that if PR is left with
only 300,000 left then it will be easy for US to take it over just like what happen to the 50 state. No, I believe the we need every Puerto Rican in Puerto Rico to stay in Puerto Rico. To build our nation we don't only need them but the help of the World Bank and etc. To have the 90% go is like loosing your family. If we are one people than we must stick it out and fight for a hatter future for all of our people. |
