Really you should not waste your time or efforts to reasons with scum it just does not work. The vieja just does not want to see to truth for what it is, that yes I people have voted against statehood but it also voted against independence, yet this fool wants to force his ideals on a population that has and will continue to reject his so called Republic of Puerto Rico. By the way you do have some good points concerning the status of Puerto Rico I also think that until Puerto Rico gets better political leaders I will continue to vote for ELA.

I understand your CONCERNS, the STATEHOOD movement has some BIG ballast of CORRUPT LEADERS. But I must warn you that the Partido Pupular Democrático probably has as many corrupt leaders, yet the Press does its biased job of keeping it out of the Public Forum. The same way the Leftist Press does FREE POLITICAL ADVERTISING for the Independentista Movement and CREATES NEWS for lack of GENUINE SUPPORT from Puerto Rican Society as a whole. Talking about this, have you ever counted how many people show up in the Forbidden Practice Zones in Vieques to protest, and how many of them are Reporters? I'll give you a hint: 50% - 50%; that is not REPORTING NEWS, it is FABRICATING NEWS. Now that I mention the subject, I remember my English Literature Professor in College some 20 years ago telling us that JOURNALISM is not about FACTS, but the INTERPRETATION OF FACTS by the JOURNALIST. This, Lenny, has not changed at all, IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE . What El Vocero did with the "Vampiro de Moca" [1975], El Nuevo Día is doing with Vieques today. That is partly how the Media Industry survives.

As I said some months ago, and Virgil just re-emphasized: the Puerto Rican ELECTORATE will show what OUR PEOPLE THINK.

Results in 2000 elections will be:

58.5% - New Progressive Party (NPP)
40.0% - Popular Democratic Party (PDP)
1.5% - Puerto Rican Independence Party (PIP)

You guys forgot one thing. The PPD has said many times that if they had to select statehood they would select to make PR a free country. Now, don't tell me this is not true. Because this is part of there constitution as a party. Even the PNP has said the if US say no to statehood that they them self will fight for a free PR. So far
I don't see statehood for PR and if it ever come, you and me won't live to see it nor if it ever becomes free PR. Maybe our kids would see what happens to PR. So for now, lets just relax and see what comes up in the coming elections.

People like Virgil with such thoughts of negativity is what keeps us so tightly grasped in the talon of the american eagle. It is true that welfare has created "vagos" but you have to understand that not all Boricuas are like that. I for one have worked extremely hard for what i have now and it was given to me by the sweat of my brow and it wasnt handed to me. What we need is for people to stop thinking they need the US for everything , with that as well as great leadership ( as some of the members of this bulletin have pointed out ) We can do it!!! I for one have faith in our people , our resources and our country in general.We shouldnt forget what our founding fathers have taught us , like what San Pedro Albizu Campos once said, " La ley del amor y del sacrificio no admiten de ausencias y yo nunca he estado ausente de Puerto Rico." for us to prevail we have to depend on Puerto Rico and Perto Rico alone...

That is very true with what you say but ELA still gives Puerto Rico to move in either direction and that my friend would be to which at that time of course proves to have the leadership tools.

Like I said to you in the other forum in current events, don't pay any attention to these vendepatrias of the Ganga de Criollo-Antichrist, Jibaro, and dirty Vazquez.

They are so far down the tubes that the only thing that can straighten out these blowhard statehooders is what comes out of the barrel of a gun.

Mike Coordero and El Boricua are both right and politically mature in what they say that the populares of the ELA hold the swing vote and they according to the formula of the ELA are committed to backing Independence for nuestra Isla-Nacion.

So don't worry; you work very hard and are a piller of our Puerto Rican community. Be happy, our national identity and unique culture will not go down the tubes, because the statehooders will never prevail.
