American Pageant another reason to say
No to Statehood.

I don't know how many of you saw the show but
When they began to elimited the pageants everyone of These ladies would never say the Hawaii could win. Another thing every one of them spoke English with Out any problems which don't show the true America.
If they would have shown one with a a English problem or could not speak English this would have been A big thing but everyone spoke perfect English.
Hawaii won only because she was the only one the did Not look plastic. I remember was when she said The when she is sad all she has to do is look at her Beautiful mountains and she would feel good again
This reminds me of my beautiful Puerto Rico. I also Do the same. Our mountains are so beautiful. See how Much we would lose if we become a state? We have too much to loose if we become a state.

What about compete in the Olympics as Puerto Rico? All this is part of our identity as Puertorricans that will be suck-up by the statehood like a sponge.

Papo Blair,

Let me if I understand you correctly okay? You are saying that if Puerto Rico was to become a state that the mountains would not be there to look at any more. Is it that they would have a different view I am asking because you really are not making any sense to me the mountains are not going anywhere and that is just the truth. Concerning the Olympics it is incredible that we still are so strong about our team, see regardless if we compete under the US flag I can still feel proud when I see a Puerto Rican winning a medal. States take pride in their olympians this is also a fact. Puerto Rico would be no different and that is also fact. Yes, of course I agree with you that it will not be the same not seeing our flag being waved, but it is not like our people would not be represented. Time will tell and again let our vote lead us to our destiny.

Well, what I was also trying to say was the
Americans have a long way to go when it
comes to dealing with other Americans the
don't speak like they do, or can't speak
English at all. They look at them as not
Americans, like they don't belong in America.
When what they should do is understand the
every American wants to Speak and understand
English. When I come to the states I feel
so bad for those who try to speak English
because they are treat so bad. Many times
they have a bad time at work to. I am not
only talking about Spanish people only but
other likes Polish, Russians and etc.
You have to wait until your family is 5
Generation of American so the maybe they
would take you in. If America was a Spanish country I believe Puerto Rico would had become a state along time ago. Is the language the stop our people from become a state. This again show the Puerto Rico belong free. We are a nation and there is no way we could take this out of our blood.

That is absolutely right, you hit the nail on the head, bingo. Our flag will never fly on the olympics, even if the whole US team are Puerto Ricans. You will only see a Miss Puerto Rico in the american pageant selection, and the winner will become Miss USA, even if a Puertorican. And if she wins, it will not said Miss Puerto Rico is now Miss Universe. So, in all sense, our maountains will look different without our flag waving.

Moreover, our flag will not be place in the honor side and in many cir****ances, will be displayed below the USA flag.
