But I do see a point that Jibaro has on the Vieques and the militarization of a foreign country such as Colombia. That is entirely the reason why the US decided to remain in PR and let Cuba go independent. FOR MILITARY USE AGAINST OR IN DEFENSE OF US INTERESTS. If the Colombian insurrection escalates to the point of revolution, then Roosevelt Roads (the largest Naval Base on earth, I wonder why) would be used specifically for the purpose of keeping us sp*cs, wherever on this earth, in line.

Ahora, como todo "pelo púbico" humano (en su definición boricua...), que sólo cuelga sin pensar, hay un montón de bobos en este foro chupándose sus bobos, los cuales se ponen a alardear de glorias hispanas pero que sólo son carne de bayoneta de las potencias antidemocráticas asiáticas y de sus vasallos marxistas caribeños (quienes sólo se mantienen a flote en base al narcotráfico). Llénense sus bocas de aire caliente y palabras altisonantes, que a quienes ustedes engañan a la postre es a ustedes mismos...

PS: While my prior posting was in our MOTHER-TONGUE, let me address you in the only language you know. There is only ONE TRIUNE GOD, and though His HOLY SPIRIT indwells every true Christian, that does not mean we are gods, ONLY HE IS. I never, and WILL NEVER aspire to usurp HIS THRONE.

That said, let me offer some insight into the frustration and inferiority feelings that drive many here to be fanatical about making Puerto Rico into a banana republic. The FACT is that 95% of Puerto Ricans living in Puerto Rico never bother to vote for independence during the four Referendums held in the last 30 years. Why? Because they don't want Puerto Rico to be a banana republic. If Cuba, being truly more endowed with people and natural resources than Puerto Rico is second to Haiti in being the poorest nation in Latin America, then to push independence down the throats of 95% of Puerto Ricans living in Puerto Rico is not only ABSURD, but CRIMINAL .

Amazingly, there are more independentistas in the States, where almost 4 million Puerto Ricans reside than in Puerto Rico itself. Why ? It is obvious that many Puerto Ricans in the States feel so out of place and so low that they find refuge in "independentismo", just like many blacks find refuge in following Louis Fahrrahkan, and many whites find comfort in belonging to the KKK . Isolation, alienation and the urge to overcome through total separation are not hallmarks of coping with reality, but hallmarks of being disconnected to reality .

Call me what you want, I am more at ease, more relaxed, better adjusted to life in the USA than life in Cuba, Colombia, Mexico or Argentina, and so are 95% of Puerto Ricans living in Puerto Rico . And I am very sure that this will be the case for all Puerto Ricans living in the States who venture out of the inner cities of New York, Chicago and L.A., who make the effort to overcome socially and financially the stygma of minority-hood. That is why, like Dr. José Celso Barbosa y Alcalá, I aspire for Puerto Rico to become a State, rather than become a banana republic, or remain a second-rate territory.
