Cool Puerto Rico, Latino America

Actually Latin Americans do not envy us. Their question is,
Why is it Puerto Ricans are treated bad by "Uncle Sam" and
discriminated? Our reputation among them is we live on welfare that is why we do not have the dignity to fight
or achieve independence. The same way you have a streo type of them they have one for us. This stereo type is due to traitors like you.
We are all Americanos we live in the continent of America.

I have to disagree with you on why Puerto Ricans are on Welfare...there are many, but let me just mention some. Was a single Mother who worked until she no longer could because of sickness. That is one reason, single Mothers. Education is another one. Many Puerto Ricans that come from the Island have been under educated and do not dominate the English language, not their fault, blame the bureaucracy of the island government and politics. Another reason is the apathy and lack of desire to pick themselves up from their "boot straps". I saw this with my very eyes, people who could work, but just wanted to get "el cheque de wilfredo". My Mother pushed "la idea de tener dignidad", to work hard, she did just that, work hard. Her efforts paid off in sending me to a private school until she no longer could afford it. Her belief in dignidad was very important to her because she knew that to make it anywhere you had to have education and not depend on the government for a life time. We finally got off welfare when she re-married. I struggle to get my education and graduated from college and I push that idea among young Latinos. There are much more reasons why our people are on welfare, but I do not want to write a book. With education and desire, we can change that and we are doing it. Hey, you sure look like a Boricua brother who is doing well.

Paz,

Conguero

Cool

Actually that was a cheap response. Latin Americans love Puerto Ricans. They hear our music.
