Hey, I can try, can't I? I need the practice. jajaja Though, I can see that you can pretty much get the general point of what I wrote. (No my friend, there is no speaking, or talking in a computer forum, only writing.) Take care.

big mistake

I agree with OZlanding. Many Puerto Ricans treat Dominicans and Cubans in general with disrespect. We say very distasteful jokes on the intelligence of Dominicans. We speak badly about how Cubans are always trying to make money. Yet we say how badly we are treated on the Mainland. We need to see ourselves in the mirror before we criticize others who are only trying to make a living and looking for things that they lack in their own countries. I once was told by a Mexican lady while traveling in Mexico, that we Puerto Ricans were "millionaires". I asked her why she thought that we were rich? She told me that we were rich because we were American Citizens. Wow! I just ponder what she said and thought, Hmm...at least the poor are helped, we shelter them, we feed them and try to get them on their feet. You know we are rich! So, my friends, lets treat others that come to Puerto Rico with respect and see how fortunate we are.

I don't agree with OZLANDING, but I do agree with some of your statements, Conguero. Puerto Ricans in PR need to tolerate the immigrants, but still the immigrants need to respect our land and culture. Not all Puerto Ricans discriminate against Dominicans, but there are still many. Though, it is understandable when Puerto Rico doesn't even have enough jobs to go around for her own people, let alone immigrants. Also, due to our political status, culture is very controversial, and Dominicans, however so similar, still have a different culture. It is a two-sided situation, with more deep-rotted feelings then you think.

Also, Puerto Ricans are far from rich, and we have a lot to improve on. jajaja
