No, I am not married to a Muslim
My husband treats me with respect, and I in turn respect him.
While it's true that many Muslim countries do practice what you have stated, many do not. Like I said before, I've worked with them and they only have one wife and were very respectful toward me. I believe the media has overdone their way of telling the world what a country is all about. They're usually directed toward the negative and many lies in between. Just the other day, a guy in my job told me that Mormon men can have more than one wife. However, that is not true for the majority of Mormons. They used to practice this many, many years ago. There are still some who illegally practice this underground, but most don't. If someone from another country who didn't know any better was taught this, he/she would think polygamy was our way of life.
I honestly don't think it's fair to believe everything the media says concerning Muslim countries. After 9/11 the Muslim communities along with other Muslim countries were the target of hate. People were very hateful toward them, even those who called themselves Christians, but was it fair? Little did they know that an enoumous amount of people in those countries were against that attack on 9/11, but the media only showed those celebrating in the streets and those who were against Americans. They rarely showed people who were concerned about that attack. So you see, I DO NOT believe everything the media dishes out to the public. As a matter of fact, they are known to lie just to increase ratings.
I learned that if I want to accurately learn about a religion, country or whatever - I should go right to the source and nobody else.
