why is there all this religious talk yet there is no talk about Santeria?
we as Boricuas are pagans.
from the candles we light in Jesus name which in fact is to another god.
to ancestor worship..we light candles for our dead and call upon them in times of need..
we are not catholic and never was
it was a front that I guess you started to think was true.
I own a Botanica and I keep the African and Native ways..
they are much older than the Catholic religion which was stolen from the Jews and "transformed" into a "new religion"
hell it was the Catholics who killed Jesus..
the Italians..
I wish people would stop trying to act Italian...we are not
we are not "latins" since that would mean Italian..
the "cockiness" we show and think is pride is of Italian roots..
the Spanish you speak is of Italian roots

as well as the Orishas
we have 7 & 14 day candles and statues
also prayer cards..bead necklaces
everthing most Botanicas have

Knowing how IMAGES are, can your santa Barbara, the Guadalupe virgin and the rest of your IDOLS walk, talk, and do anything for themselves, or do you have to carry them around like fire-logs ?

If they can't do ANYTHING for themselves, why then do you ask them to do things for you ?

Moses was appalled when he saw his people worshiping a golden calf after receiving the Ten Commandments!! What do you think God will do to those who worship images of mere mortals ???? Mari don't lump us all in as pagans, I only worship God almighty !

Hola Mari: Expusite tu teme en ingles, pero yo te contsto en español, porque me interesa que aquellos que no entienden bien el ingles tambien se beneficien. ¿Sabes porque nadie habla de Santeria? Porque no esta catalogada como religion sino como una practica pagana, ocultista e idolatra. La biblia como la palabra de Dios la condena. La santeria es una rama de la brujeria o magia negra. Lamento que estes ganandote la vida llevando a otros a las tinieblas. ¿Quieres saber la verdad? Lee la biblia, yo fui espiritista y santera tambien y me envolvi en el ocultismo. Mi vida se volvio un infierno hasta que conoci a Cristo. Evalua si eres feliz sinceramente, si sientes paz en tu corazon y tienes caudales de amor para dar. Busca un encuentro con el verdadero Dios, que es Jesucristo y te aseguro que no te arrepentiras.
