hoops

Yes, basketball is a big deal in PR. Carlos Arroyo of Santurce is a good player, but he's not even the best player on his team. That would be Jose 'Piculin' Otiz who played for the Utah Jazz early in his career. Arroyo tried out for an NBA team last summer but didn't make the last cuts. Ponce also has one of the best players in Eddie Casiano.

Piculin is washed up, Carlos Arroyo is the best Puerto Rican basketball player right now.

Well, until Diaz gets there.
I think Diaz is a LITTLE better disciplined and more talented offensively than Arroyo. But right now, in the NBA, I suppose you can say that about Arroyo. I am disappointed in his lack of progress as a player, since he has been in and around the league for a few years now. Playing time or not.

Diaz is obviously the most talented Puerto Rican basketball player along with Peter John Ramos, Ricky Sanchez, Jose Juan Barea, and Josue Soto, but right now Arroyo is the leader.

Hopefully these young guys develop quickly, the Olmypics is in 2008, we need some medals baby!
