Did anyone see what happend on friday night? With 40 seconds left in the Pistons Pacers game. WOW. All i have to say is that Ron Artest got what he desevred. I think Jackson could have gotten a little more punishment and Oneals was good. But My man Big Ben got 6 games. HE should have gotten 2 or 3 at the most. Artest is a joke. He is single handedly ruining the NBA. He is cancer and is a fool. I think Artest needs to leave the NBA and work on his damn rap album (as if he doesnt need any more money). Its abotu time David Stern came down on this guy. If i was the commish I would have given him the frist month of next year off too. Artest is a disgrace to all NBA fans and all former and presetn NBA professional.

Big Ben Should have got 30 GAMES!

Greetings,

The suspensions form Friday's fight were definitely too harsh period. Would you slap a Pit Bull after a dog fight? Well of corse not! Ron Artest despite his past record reacted off of an already short fuse. After emotions were heightened from the altercation with Ben Wallace Ron showed restraint though I believe he did want to attack Wallace but wanted to show the world that he didn't start this fight (between him and Ben Wallace) and he can show self control despite his reputation. After the fan who was totally out of line crossed the line of human respect Ron's fuse was set off because his emotions, testosterone were already at an all time high which was the slapping a Pit Bull! Ron reacted like anyone at any job in any position would have reacted if they were blatantly disrespected for no reason at all. Fight or Flight are the two human characteristics we respond to when we feel threatened. Ron Artest did not become an NBA All-Star from running and that same attitude and passion is what drove him into the stands. No it was not okay to do but neither, never is it okay to provoke anyone and not expect repercussions. If Ron did not do anything then the fan would have been kicked out of the arena and back the next game even more disrespectful. If any thing Ron set the standard where fans now will be held even more accountable for their action at not just pro but all athletic events.
Ben Wallace should have been suspended just as long as O'neal and Jackson because if he would have taken their butt kicking like a real man then none of this would have happened. But now we really know that under that afro that is out of control is a man that is emotionally inexperienced in taking a loss graciously and Ben knew deep down inside that the same thing was going to happen in the playoffs this year a series lost to Indiana. Jackson and O'neal's suspensions were some what justified but Ben Wallace should have received at least 30 games like Jackson and O'neal (25) for starting and continuing to try to attack Artest after he already got his choke push.
The only positive is that Freddy Jones, will get a chance to develop and shine which is a positive. Freddy could have got lost in the shuffle of the Pacers rotation but now in his contract year has a chance to show that he in the NBA to stay.
To truly have a opinion on this subject you have to have been an athlete or you won't know what adrenaline combined with competition will do to the human phys.

The suspensions were not too harsh. Ben Wallce's 6 games was enough and so was oneals 25 and jacksons 30 and artests 73. you cant justify artest agoing into the stands and goin after the wrong person. Ron artest just wanted time off to promot his r&b album. ill be the first to say ron artest is a piece of ****. he a barry bonds of the NBA. they are both hurting their sports. but the tru problem is AMERICA DOESTNT CARE. there are a few who do care but most do not.

And Ron Artest recently stated that he will come out like an "animal, playing outta control" this season.

He's going to get under someone's skin eventually this year. It's inevitable. At 6'7" and now weighing 260 lbs, pulling and grabbing on guys... there will be a fight this year. What will come of it? We shall see.
