Dear,
Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine, ESPNews, Sports Center, Bud Selig, Rick Reilly of Sports Illustrated Magazine and any true sports fan out in the world who cares what’s going on in the world of sports
Ken Caminiti (R.I.P.), Jose Canseco and now Jason Giambi are three Major League Baseball players that have come out and admitted that they use steroids in their careers. Also these three men won the MVP award. Caminit won the award in 1996 with the Padres, Canseco in 1988 with the Athletics, and Giambi with the Athletics in 2000. With that said I feel that one big name is missing from this group of men. I’m sure you can guess that I am talking about Mr. Steroids himself Barry Bonds. Bonds has won seven MVP awards in his career while winning four in a row from 2001-2004. The big question that revolves around Mr. Bonds is steroids. Has he taken them or not? My guess is yes he has. Look at him when he was on the Pittsburg Pirates and look at him now on the Giants. He can be the mascot while playing he is so big. So the real question on my mind is why he won’t admit he used steroids through the years? Well one possible reason is that if he admits using steroids that he may bring other players down with him. Players like Gary Sheffield who he gave the “Cream and Clear,” too. Another possible reason is that he never knowingly took steroids (sigh). If Bonds does get caught he should not go to the Hall Of Fame, and his records should all be thrown out. Barry if the last vote came down to me for you to get into the Hall, guess what you aint getting in.
I feel as if players like Bonds will keep getting away with steroids until there is a real stiff form of testing as well as punishment. The reason they will continue to get away with this is because there are not enough sports fans who truly care about the sport, and the commissioner over looks this subject and doesn’t deal with it until it come about. People are just watching the game for entertainment, but true sports fans like me don’t want to see home runs in every at bat we want to see “small ball.” Bunts, sacrifices, stolen bases, triples, even a player stealing home. That is what makes baseball America’s pastime. Not players like Bonds taking steroids and hitting a home runs every at bat. That’s why I am not going to watch any Giants games on television. But I will be at a Padres game when you come to town Barry. You might be able to hear me too. I will be about 15 rows up looking straight at you calling you a cheater, and booing you every chance I get. You are killing baseball.
Another problem in baseball is the random drug testing. The testing is done once from spring training through October. And the penalty for getting caught is a counselor visit. Please like that is going to help. What I would do if I was the commissioner, I would random drug test everyone at least once a month, but up to three times a month just to make sure. The penalty for testing positive for any illegal substance, the rest of the season off. That’s right you test positive you are done. Bud Selig I’m gunning for your job. I plan to be Commissioner one day. But again like I said before not enough true sports fans are out there. So that is why I think that this whole ordeal with Victor Conte, Greg Anderson, and Mr. Steroids I mean Barry Bonds will blow over and wont even affect this season and my just get thrown into the cellar and not be talked about until it comes up again in a year or so.
Sincerely,
A True Sports Fan and Future Commissioner of Major League Baseball Peter A. Diaz

There is a saying that goes: "Cheaters never prosper." Unless they are in baseball of course. Steroids is indeed cheating. The problem is theose in the media now are just the tip of the iceberg. Is Bonds doing "roids" or is he just a magnificent genetic specimen? Time, I think, will tell the truth. But in this country you are innocent until proven guilty. No matter how guilty you may look. Dollars will get you donuts you are correct and Barry knowingly used steroids. Yet we must approach this matter as with all matters of law and justice and ensure that the accused is given every opportunity to demonstrate innocence. Indeed, the burden of proof is not on the accused but rather the accussers to prove the allegations true.

Baseball has turned a blind eye to this matter for far too long. And as with all things the gavel of justice must begin to fall somewhere. It seems it will start with Mr. Giambi. Credit must be given him for being forthright but then again he thought his testimony would not get out. At least he did not perjure himself as many believe Bonds and sheffeild did.

It iwll be intresting to watch the upcoming season to see just how many other big players come in a wee bit more skinny. The cat is out of the bag it would seem though one or two cats are trying desparatley to stay in it. If Bonds is on steroids we will know because he will have no choice but to come in lighter now that the substances are knowna nd can be tested for. So again in time we will see.

Be this all as it may, he is still probably the greatest palyer of his day if not all time. :The Babe" may not have done steroids, but he wasn;t exactly the perfect role model either. He was a boozer and womanizer. So if we can forgive (overlook?) his sins, why not Bonds as well?

Adios

I used steroids in high school. But it wasn't to cheat or gain an unfair advantage in competition. It wasn't "deca" or "winstrol" or any of those illegal steroids, but rather one that helps muscles and tendons heal (when used under a doctor's care). But I did get bigger and stronger as a result of using them. As soon as I stopped, I shrunk like Pudge (should-be FLACO now) Rodriguez did in 2005.

How come no one has mentioned HIM in all this steroid talks? Remember how huge Pudge used to be???
