Puerto Rico's Punta Boriquen Golf and Country Club

Situated in grounds of the old Ramey Air Force Base is the very popular Punta Boriquen Golf and Country Club. Considered by many to be one of the most pleasant golf courses in Puerto Rico, Punta Boriquen is definitely worth a visit.

Conveniently located in Aguadilla County in the north-west of Puerto Rico, Punta Boriquen Golf and Country Club is easily accessible. It is also one of the less expensive golf courses on the island and a great option if you enjoy a good game of golf in a stunning setting. The fine golf course, which looks out over the ocean, was originally established in 1940 for use by officers operating at Fort Ramey Base. The course consists of 18 holes and is a par 72. The yardage of Punta Boriquen varies from 4 908 to 6 889, with ratings from 70.5 to 71.5. It is a relatively open golf course designed by Fred Garbin. Featuring straight fairways, the wind can sometimes increase the challenge of this excellent golf course. The sand traps also add to the challenge of Punta Boriquen golf course. The fairways are brilliantly maintained so you can be sure to enjoy an outstanding game - if you are up for the challenge.

The marvelous Punta Boriquen Golf and Country Club stands proudly on a cliff with excellent views of the sparkling sea. When you reach the 7th and 8th holes you can venture up the lighthouse for even greater panoramic views. Renowned individuals such as General Dwight D. Eisenhower made extensive use of this well-designed golf course at Fort Ramey. If you need to practice a bit, there is a practice green and driving range at the country club of Punta Boriquen. Take note: the country club has a soft spike policy. Those who wish to enjoy a day of golf here need not worry about a tee time reservation. If you don't have your own clubs with you, these can be rented on-site. As previously mentioned the fees at Punta Boriquen Golf and Country Club are relatively inexpensive and currently range from $18 to $20 (prices subject to change).
