Visit Bayamon's Parque de las Ciencias

While you are visiting Puerto Rico take time to stop off at the Parque de las Ciencias. This open-air museum is located in Bayamón and is especially tailored towards those with a keen interest in science. The museum is made up of showrooms, rides and scientific exhibits. This fascinating theme park contains over two hundred and seventy interactive activities that are very enjoyable to watch and participate in. The majority of these exhibits are found in two buildings which are joined by a glass hall. However there are other buildings that are used by the museum.

The two main buildings house some amazing scientific exhibits, like the Biosphere Hall, where you can immerse yourself in both science and nature. Or you could go upstairs where you will find the Perception Hall. This hall is filled with exhibits containing interesting museum pieces. The Eureka Hall contains the Marie Curie Plaza, the Acoustic Perception and the Dynamic Sculptures area. This interactive museum was inaugurated by Mayor Ramon Luis Rivera in 1988. It covers a massive 30,000 square meters of land.

Other noteworthy attractions in the museum include a Planetarium, a Tropical Butterfly house, the Observation Tower and the Astronomy Garden. You can also enjoy walks in the Botanical Garden and visit the Oil mill and Olive Grove. The two main buildings feature the latest facilities available. These are used to keep the permanent exhibitions in perfect condition while providing good facilities for visitors. The Parque de las Ciencias' main aim is to help visitors learn about and clearly understand a number of scientific and universal principles and phenomena. It also helps youngsters to enjoy science.

The other buildings on the grounds include the Mechanics Area and the Temporary Exhibition Pavilion. All news exhibits are based on technology and science and are immensely interesting. Each year the Temporary Exhibit changes as technology and science improve, providing the public with access to these new and exciting developments. Water and Energy games and mental gymnastics are used to get you mentally and physically active. With so many places to visit and enjoy, it is advisable that you work out a scheduled tour before hand so that you don't miss out on any favorites.
