Travel San Juan, Puerto Rico: Riding tourist trolley through town [04:10]
I started the morning off early with a walk through the extensive grounds of the Embassy Suites / Golden Sands resort in Dorado, and around mid-day we made our way into the Puerto Rican capital -- San Juan. Old San Juan is a beautifully restored colonial city and was founded in 1521. We parked our vehicle close to the Puerto Rican Capitol and started walking west towards Old San Juan past Plaza Colon which features a statue of Christopher Columbus. After my initial explorations of the popular shopping street Calle Fortaleza I discovered the Governor's Mansion (la Fortaleza) where two local policemen enlightened me about the significance of this building. Then I came across the Parque de las Palomas where hundreds of pigeons swarm the tourists who feed them. Walking north I explored the Atlantic waterfront, the Old San Juan Cemetery and one of San Juan's most imposing fortifications: Fort San Felipe del Morro, begun in 1539, which today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I even hopped on the free open-air tourist trolley to get a more comprehensive view of Old San Juan and caught a nice sunset, looking south over the Bay of San Juan.

Dancing Thru Life - Zig Zagging Around [02:49]
What does a middle aged guy do after quitting his job of 23 years? Travel the world and Dance Thru Life! Here's a dance video from, by and large, a month long "zig zagging" travel blitz on Jet Blue's All-You-Can-Jet pass -- 25 flights to 14 destinations. I'm especially proud of this goofy dance video (# 21 in the series, and probably the last one) for a bunch of reasons. First, it's the first video done in high definition and wide-screen. Secondly, it has a lot of exotic locals in it: atop a glacier in Alaska; at Copan Mayan Ruins in Honduras in Central America; in the world's largest open pit mine in Salt Lake City Utah; in a Cajun cooking class in New Orleans; dancing in the dangerous city center of Bogotá, Columbia; plus lots more! Thirdly, it has two relatives in it -- my nephew Adam and Cousin Paula. Getting 15-year old Adam to dance with me was next to impossible! And spending a week with Cousin Paula in New Orleans on a whim was memorable. Lastly, this video has cutting edge editing in it -- like the scene where I dance with my clone plus the ending where there's a "Brady Bunch screen" video effect. My favorite scene? That's like asking which of your children you like the best. But if I had to say, it's the 747 landing virtually on top of me in St. Martin in the Caribbean. I actually had to brave a hurricane to get to the island and divert to San Juan for a day because St. Martin airport was closed down. And after filming the segment, had to clean the sand from ...
