Nature sounds can be separated in two main groups: first one includes the sounds produced by animals, while the second consists of sounds produced by natural phenomena such as weather and meteorological occurrences. During the history, sounds of nature, especially animal sounds, have been objects of imitation of tribal people (and even of devotion when they have been related to their belief systems). Even today imitation of nature sounds is used in many shamanic rituals and healing techniques. Apart from that, sounds of nature have many positive effects on humans. Being in nature, surrounded by pure acoustics of the environment, gives a feeling of overwhelming calm that is hard to experience in urban surroundings. Probably that is related to a human brain which reacts positively when exposed to nature sounds. Actually, nature is our ancient environment, so the vibrations it produces in our brain with the frequencies of natural sounds are among most pleasurable states and feels a little like "returning home". Being in nature, or listening to relaxing nature music can be a great stress relief for the brain, since it is basically coded and shaped in times deep in prehistory when human communities were living in the nature. While being constantly exposed to the non-natural noise of the industrial civilization, these basic instincts of temporary people are suppressed, but the connection with the nature cannot be destroyed. Canyoning Adventure-Aventuras Tierras Adentro, Puerto Rico [01:33]
If you don't really know what Canyoning actually entails, think of it as caving in the open air. This adventure follows a river downstream using as many different techniques as possible, such as rappelling, via ferratas, crossing zip-lines, swimming and jumping from high ledges in short, the kind of stirring sensations that are bound to appeal to the child in all of us. Our Canyoning adventure takes place next to the Caribbean National Forest , better known locally as El Yunque. Our adventure starts with a hike, topped by an entertaining mid-forest crash course on rappelling and related subjects. Following immediately are thrilling but surprisingly easy via ferrata and monkey bridge jaunts. These are designed to serve as a warm-up for your next challenge. You'll subsequently rappel into a canyon next to a thundering waterfall whose roar will get you totally focused on continuing to the next trial. Then, on the face of a black granite wall, you'll do a second via ferrata with a few rock climbing moves between rebar handles. This in turn, will take you to a rappel-zip line. Swishing down a rope you'll splash into the river, getting yourself acclimated for other challenges ahead, in a completely different element. More to come: Diving through waterfalls, exciting zip lines, heart pounding free jumps, and a vertical straight up rock climb.
