More Flights to Puerto Rico
There are many faces to the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, one of which is to promote the tourism industry of Puerto Rico. Since its establishment in the year 1970, the Puerto Rico Tourism Company has been working tirelessly to introduce promotional campaigns to advertise the island, creating infrastructures to assist the tourism industry and encouraging locals to engage in tourism related ventures, such as establishing adequate accommodation, restaurants and activities to lure tourists to the island. Lately they have working closely with airlines to increase the number of flights to the island to offer improved transportation.
Tourists come to Puerto Rico for its unique island atmosphere, magnificent wildlife and natural attractions, and for its wide variety of activities that can be enjoyed in the tropical weather. With the local communities and the Puerto Rico Tourism Company being devoted to giving visitors a range of options and choices during their holiday, is has become just as important for visitors to be able to book flights without incident and with ease. With airlines such as Spirit, US Airways, United, American Airlines, Cape Air, Continental, Air Tran, American Eagle, Delta and Jet Blue, offering flights to the island, it has been recently announced that both Continental and Jet Blue have confirmed an increase in flights.
As the holiday season is vital to the tourism industry, Continental Airlines have agreed to increase their daily flights from three to four during the months of September to the end of December. These flights are from the Newark Liberty International Airport to the Luis Marin Munoz International Airport in San Juan. Jet Blue have agreed to a more permanent flight schedule that will start in September 2008, by increasing their daily flights from the John F. Kennedy International Airport (New York) to the Luis Marin Munoz International Airport to four, with another being added in November and other increases in December. The Luis Marin Munoz International Airport will also be receiving a new flight from the Orlando International Airport, with increased flight operations from the Logan International Airport in Boston.
The increase in flight availability will make holiday arrangements more convenient for visitors and the Puerto Rico Tourism Company has doubled their promotional efforts to ensure that the increase in flights will also be profitable for the airlines. Puerto Rico is a diverse holiday destination that should be explored, and can now be reached more frequently through the co-operation and relationships built between the airlines and the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.
