Roselyn Sánchez Weds Eric Winter in Puerto Rico
Puerto Rican model, singer, film and television actress Roselyn Sánchez exchanged wedding vows with actor Eric Winter at the historic San Cristóbal Castle in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Saturday 29 November, with more than 250 guests in attendance. Wearing a dress sparkling with hand embroidered pearls and diamonds, Sánchez arrived at the castle in a Mercedes Benz and met waiting reporters graciously, thanking them for being there and putting into words what was evident from her smile – she was very happy.
Roselyn Sánchez was born on 12 April 1973 in San Juan and has three older brothers. She showed an aptitude for dancing and acting at a young age and loved to perform for her family. At the age of 18, Sánchez moved to the Big Apple, New York City, where she put her energies into dancing, acting and singing classes. Returning to Puerto Rico in 1992, Sánchez made her movie debut as an island girl in the movie Captain Ron, parts of which were filmed on the island and its beautiful azure waters.
In 1993, Sánchez won the Miss Puerto Rico Petite contest, following this in 1994 by winning the international title of Miss American Petite, which boosted her into the international limelight. In her home country, she became a household name as a dancer and co-host of Puerto Rico’s variety show, Que Vacilon. Her international star appeal is evident by the fact that she has appeared on a number of annual lists of beautiful women published by magazines such as Maxim Magazine, AskMen.com and FHM Magazine.
Sánchez is currently playing the role of Agent Elena Delgado in the television series, Without a Trace. Past roles have included that of Isabella Molina in Rush Hour 2, Lorena in Chasing Papi, Maria in Edison and Karen Lopez in Underclassman, as well as starring in the Puerto Rican film Cayo in 2005. Her talents include the composing of the movie musical Yellow, in which she plays the principal role of a singer/dancer/actress who leaves her home country of Puerto Rico to pursue the big time in New York. Sánchez released her first recording, Borinquena, in 2003 with the first single from the album, Amor Amor, resulting in a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Music Video. She has also appeared in music videos for Craig David and Fabolous.
Through her ongoing support of animal rights and as an active member of PETA, recently appearing in a PETA anti-fur campaign, as well as being the spokesperson for the Fundación de Niños San Jorge, Roselyn Sánchez has shown that she is a compassionate person, taking time out from her hectic schedule to promote causes dear to her heart. No doubt her friends, family and fans are wishing her and her new husband a lifetime of happiness.
