    Well that is precisely the difference between Latin America and the states. In the states, you are viewed as just another n****r no matter what if you have black in you, so you have no coice but to band together. In LA, you can have a black grandmother, but still be considered white, so there is less of a chance in this case that the people will come together. So this is the problem for the brown skin people on the island.
