  • Job's Fair in Hato Rey Puerto Rico, September 15, 2011

When I was in the Navy many years ago, we would often go out to sea for several weeks at a time. When a ship is out to sea for a long time, it obviously starts to run out of supplies such as food, fuel, mechanical parts, etc. I remember that we'd meet supply ships out in the middle of nowhere to obtain everything we needed.

Those supply ships were ran by civilians, not military people. The ships belong to something called the Military Sealift Command (MSC). MSC is the Navy's civilian branch. The people manning those ships were civilians. They had NO combat role. Their only purpose was to provide supplies.

The MSC is a great starting point for a young person. You travel, get paid, learn a skill of your choice, and have job security. . .something really scarce in today's economy. These jobs can be performed by men and women. All you need is a little determination.

For those of you living in Puerto Rico, MSC is conducting a job's fair in Hato Rey on September 15, 2011. Please see the following link:

The following is a youtube clip describing MSC life.

The opportunity is there. Will you take it? Will you go for it?
