questions:... the ppl in front of the federal jail who have been there for more than a year, have place tents/port-o-potties, b-b-q's, etc. d are they going to get criminal charges? the ppl in vieques...who trespassed into in navy fields, broke down the fences, etc. will they face criminal charges? i know some have gone to jail, but none with jail bonds, or criminal charges...
i understand that anyone, regardless of their political views, if theyve done something wrong, they should face the same charges.... stealing money from the government (be it pnp, pip, populares) or tresspassing.. they should all have the same charges... no one should get pardoned..
*i think pesquesra is sick and tired of everyone thinking he's this calm man that can hold in his feelings and not stand up for himself... hes not superman (as his fellow pnp's call him) i know him personally, and everyone... gets annoyed sometime.. the same way ppl that want the navy to leave vieques...but i dont think that they should trespass or do something againist the law...

      Well X-Fairy

The circumstances dictate the severity of the punishment. The justice system will determine the degree of his violations. The fact still remains, he broke the law..knowing very well that the American flag was to be settled the following day.

It is obvious that he miscalculated the concecuences of his actions. Looks like he may be facing upto three years or the lost of his political position.

his charges are what? because he placed the flag a day early?
would it had been the same if the american flag was placed before the puerto rican one...would ppl have complained and forced the p.r flag up, just as he did? would they have faced the same charges?

Actually you are right on the dot, X-F, if it would have been a

[i]PR flag the Puerto Rican Press and Estrada here would have called them heroes and no charges would have been leveled against them by clown governor Sila.

Nowadays it is politically correct to pick on the USA and American Citizens only .

But hey, the new Federal Prosecutor sent to Puerto Rico has begun "cleaning house" and firing all the prosecutors who have been estremely lenient with the independentista ENCAPUCHADOS
(maybe the directors of the FBI in Puerto Rico are next...)[b]. Better days are just around the corner .

            That is not the issue!

This "turba" decided to use violence and take actions on his own hands. He use force to mitigate an action already in motion. The fact that this office was directly related to woman affairs...it shows how abusive and bullie he is..If this would have been a Police station where mostly man and armed are situated...he would have never even intended to do so. He is a coward for taking advantage of the Puertorrican woman.

Look at the photos, they are not ENCAPUCHADOS, they have nothing to hide.

[i]They did not come with baseball bats and rocks like your guys in Vieques.

They only came with an American Flag .

              If that is
"violence"[b], I wish the world would have such violent acts instead of what your separatista side advocates...

but, STILL, my question has not been answered.. would it have been the same if/when it was the U.S flag taht was being placed before the p.r flag... ppl wouldve complained and probably wouldve done the same thing...
and the rest of my questions:
                * the ppl in front of the federal jail who have been there for more than a year, have place tents/port-o-potties, b-b-q's, etc. are they going to get criminal charges? the ppl in vieques...who trespassed into in navy fields, broke down the fences, etc. will they face criminal charges? i know some have gone to jail, but none with jail bonds, or criminal charges... *

                  As far as I know..

Every traspass person has been arrested and jailed...especially the leaders.

Protesting is a right of every citizen in a free world. The land for which they have camp ara not federal land. I am not following you totally but I kind of see your comparison, but justice has taken place!

If you do know of some instances where it has not then provide me the information.

from what i have read and seen while i was living in p.r (i know you live in n.j) ppl that are portesting in viwues are arrested.. but dont face criminal charges... they dont have to pay.. they are considered "heroes nacionales" because they went for something they believed in.. same way with Pesquera, he believes that both flags should be up and about at the same time... he made his statement, so now he faces up to 3 years,... the area in front ot the jail might not be federal.. but do you know about the "tapones"... the way these ppl are about yelling obsenities if you are pnp?
as for federal grounds... vieques naval base is federal, but do you think thats stoped ppl... no they tear down the fences, they break into the camp grounds.. yes they go to jail, but no criminal charges.. thats what i see wrong...
i understand its a free world...
why is it that if a puerto rican is proud to be a u.s citizen he's a "vende-patria'... cant we be proud to be both?

Is not about being proud of both nations

It is about defining one of them, it is about avoiding a total absorption by the biggest, it is about protecting our heritage, culture and language.

That is a selfprotective posture every human being must take. You just cannot give away your nation for another...thats like being married to your husband and divorcing him for another with more money or property.

I just can not understand how you can love being a Rican yet ignoring the fact that if you become a state ..THERE WILL NOT BE NO MORE PUERTORICO...just a museum of Puertorricans...this is not that hard to see.

Sinmascara I have told you before!

Your fundamentals about insisting that the afiliation with USA has not afected our culture is not true.

The fact is that if you were born in the USA with borth parents Rican and decide to visit the Island you would be considered a gringo!

The Ricans that live in the States are losing their identity and values of being a Rican...those of the Island will notice you a 100 miles away. This only demostrate that there is a difference..no doubt.

PR is a Nacion..USA is another...the stronger will consume the weaker or the smallest.
