  • Help....I want to plan a vacation in Puerto Rico!

    Buenos Dias,
I am trying to set up a reunion with my sisters and I would welcome suggestions on hotels or cottages on the island. I have family in Puerto Rico but whenever I visit I miss out on really seeing the island. You know how it is. Everyone wants you to visit them and before you know it your vacation is over and you never even went to the beach. This time I want to go as a tourist, so any suggestions on beaches to go to or towns to stay in would be great. Also, what is the best month to go? A month that is not too rainy or too hot. I'm planning to go in 2000. Thanks.

    Sweety5:

I like PR in February. It's not too hot or humid. beaches aren't too crowded and it's just at that time of the US winter when we are beginning to hate the winter because it's been cold for too long. Where to stay really depends on your budget. If you're teaming up with your sisters. You might all want to chip in and share a room at EL Conquistador in Fajardo. It's on the northeastern coast of PR. The views are beautiful, the beaches are breathtaking and so clean you will never want to go anywhere else. It is an hour drive from there to EL Yunque, 40 minutes to the Metro area for shopping, nightlife ( dancing & gambling ), but really, El Conquistador has everything you might want in a vacation without ever even leaving the hotel. When you call for prices, ask if they have any discount rooms (promos) for the month in question. In some instances you may be able to get a room for $100.00 less than advertsied, just by asking.

Enjoy your trip to PR, I go every year sometimes twice and have no desire to go anywhere else in the tropics.

I recomend the west coast, particularily Rincón, Aguada, Aguadilla,Mayagues and boquerón, its so beautiful! Stay at a Parador. Contact the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau at meetpuertorico.com and ask them to send you the latest issue of "Que Pasa!", its the official guide to Puerto Rico, its a great magazine and it has all the information and phone Numbers that you will need to make reservations and other contacts. Also e-mail: quepasa@casiano.com, they produce this free magazine. Have a fabulous time and take some time by yourself to communicate with our special island. One suggestion, embrace a palm tree, just make sure nobody sees you! No,its not crazy, its pure nature!
