U.S. Funds $440M for Puerto Rico’s Solar Homes Initiative

San Juan, Puerto Rico – In a landmark move, the U.S. Department of Energy has announced a substantial $440 million investment to install solar panels on low-income homes across Puerto Rico.

This initiative, part of the broader Puerto Rico Energy Resilience Fund, is set to transform the lives of 30,000 to 40,000 households, providing them with a sustainable and cost-effective energy source.

This project will also fix ongoing problems like frequent power cuts and an old electric grid. It’s a big step towards using clean energy in Puerto Rico.

The project will cut energy costs, bring steady power to many people, fight climate change and reduce the reliance on fossil fuels.

Putting up solar panels shows signs of hope for Puerto Rico. Old infrastructure are getting fixed and Puerto Rico is one step closer to using more eco-friendly power.

This is important for Puerto Rico’s future to fight climate change and reduce the reliance on fossil fuels.
