Cabo Rojo - White Sands & Mountain Vistas
Cabo Rojo is the ideal beach vacation destination. This top spot attracts both locals and international visitors, offering an abundance of things to do and places to stay.
Situated on the Western side of the island, Cabo Rojo is just under three hours away from San Juan. As you arrive you will likely be greeted with impressive vistas of the mountains and sea. The sparkling blue of the water will shine out clearly against white sands and green foliage. This is the paradise that you have chosen for your holiday. It has some of the most spectacular sunsets on the island all year around and it is a holiday maker's haven.
But what should you do while in this tropical wonderland? Well, you could start by soaking up the sun on one of the several fantastic beaches in Cabo Rojo. Perhaps the idea of spending a day on a small, uninhabited island appeals to you? Then you can take a boat ride out to Isla Ratones. Another Island, reachable by boat, is the Isla Mona - a wildlife sanctuary where you can view the many bird and animal species up close. Wildlife enthusiasts should also visit the Cabo Rojo Wildlife Refuge, which is a recommended attraction. And don't forget your snorkeling gear at home because the coral reef at Isla Mono is amazing to see!
Apart from these activities, you can mountain bike, hike, play golf or go fishing. When the sun starts to get low in the sky, you may want to make your way to one of the many fine restaurants where you can enjoy a fine meal of fresh fish while you watch the spectacular display of color in the sky as the sun goes to sleep beyond the horizon. Cabo Rojo is truly a holiday maker's paradise.

I was born in el barrio "Corozo" sector known as Pole Ojea, Cabo Rojo not far from laz"Gallera y el Parque de Pelota"and left when I was 8 yrs. old. I moved back to Cabo Rojo after many years in the states. -- things certainly are differnt and many good changes have occured -- I am enjoying these changes. I opened a martial arts school in el Poblado de Boqueron -- if you decide to relocate back to Cabo Rojo and want to be part of a quality martial arts school for you and your family, please look me up. We are located on calle Luis Munoz Rivera on teh right hand side just past el Baniaryo. Hope to meet some of you and even if you are visitng "La Playa de Boqueron" just pass by and say hi to us.

Born in Boqueron, lived most of my life in Cabo Rojo. Without a doubt anyone who comes to Puerto Rico for a vacation and does not visit Cabo Rojo will leave with a very bitter taste in their mouth. Beautiful people, lovely plaza, exquisite food the slopping mountains with lush greenery very close to Boqueron and Rincon. Life is good when you visit Cabo Rojo.
