A serious traffic accident occurred Friday night in Moca at the intersection of highways PR-111 and PR-125, kilometer 3.3. WAPA reported that Carlos Rodríguez Soto, 20, of San Sebastián, was driving a red Acura TSX at a speed higher than permitted by law. He ran a red light and struck the front left side of a black Toyota Yaris driven by Byron Méndez González, 22, of Aguadilla, who was proceeding with the green light.

Telemundo Puerto Rico reported the same sequence of events and medical transfers.

Investigation

The case was discussed with prosecutor José Quiñones, who ordered both vehicles seized for investigative purposes. The investigating agent is Emanuel Lorenzo Ramírez of the Aguadilla Highway Patrol Division.

WAPA and Telemundo Puerto Rico both identified the drivers by name, age, town of residence and the makes and colors of the vehicles involved.
