Cross-cultural release
Punjabi music artist Diljit Dosanjh teamed up with Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee on the track Pokito, released on October 30, 2026. شبكة تواصل الإخبارية reported the bilingual single pairs Dosanjh’s Punjabi style with Daddy Yankee’s reggaeton sound and is part of the latter’s new album.
The album, titled La Postal, is a 15-track project described on Daddy Yankee’s official website as "a musical tribute to" romance, Latin identity and cultural roots, شبكة تواصل الإخبارية reported. The song moves between Punjabi verses and Spanish sections with the repeated phrase ‘Poquito a poquito’ at its center.
Artists' contributions
t2ONLINE reported that "the high energy track brings together punjabi folk" rhythms and Latin dancehall and reggaeton beats under the tagline ‘Punjab meets Puerto Rico’. Diljit adds references to luxury symbols such as "a Lambo" and his G.O.A.T. status while Daddy Yankee takes the Spanish verses.
Daddy Yankee, whose career includes hits such as Gasolina, Dura, Con Calma and Despacito, has helped bring reggaeton to international audiences, شبكة تواصل الإخبارية reported. For Diljit Dosanjh the collaboration follows previous work with international artists including Sia and David Guetta, t2ONLINE reported.
