Event Details and Partnership
Civitatis will hold the second edition of its CiviDay on January 19, 2027 at the Palacio de Linares in Madrid. Discover Puerto Rico will serve as the principal sponsor of the gathering, which is designed to present company news, analyze trends and facilitate business contacts among travel agencies, partners and tourism professionals. Ladevi reported.
The date places the event immediately before FITUR, which runs from January 20 to 24 at IFEMA Madrid. Puerto Rico will be the guest destination at the fair. The sponsorship adds a prior contact with the Spanish tourism distribution sector to the island's agenda in Spain. The collaboration was formalized during the World Travel Market in London with the participation of Enrique Espinel, COO of Civitatis, and Jorge L. Perez, CEO of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, according to multiple reports.

Civitatis Pro and Previous Editions
The 2027 CiviDay coincides with the first anniversary of Civitatis Pro, the company's B2B ecosystem aimed at travel agencies, wholesalers, digital platforms and other distributors. More than 60,000 professionals already use the platform. The first Madrid edition in January 2026 brought together more than 150 leaders and professionals. Subsequent editions took place in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, where Civitatis has its own hubs. Agenttravel.es reported.
Enrique Espinel stated that the event allows the company to meet collaborators, listen to their needs and share future directions. Jorge L. Perez noted that the partnership with Civitatis has been effective in promoting activities in Puerto Rico, from Old San Juan to bioluminescent bays, El Yunque and other attractions for travelers from Spain and Latin America. Demócrata reported.
Where the sources differ
All sources agree that the second CiviDay will be held on January 19, 2027 at Palacio de Linares in Madrid with Discover Puerto Rico as main sponsor, the deal was signed at WTM London, and the first edition in 2026 attracted over 150 professionals. Ladevi names Jorge L. Pérez as the top official of Discover Puerto Rico while Demócrata calls him viceministro or Deputy Minister of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company. Agenttravel.es and Demócrata provide direct quotes from both executives; Ladevi does not. One Demócrata article in Spanish and its English version contain identical facts but differ in the exact title given to Jorge L. Pérez.
What the reports do not say
The reports do not specify how many attendees are expected for the 2027 edition, the exact program or speakers beyond the general description, the financial value of the sponsorship, or any specific new products or experiences Puerto Rico plans to present. They also do not detail the next steps after the event or measurable outcomes from the previous partnership with Civitatis.
