High public interest
The free exhibition “The Miss Universe Experience,” located on the second level of Plaza Las Américas in the former Sears space, has drawn more than 27,700 visitors since opening on Oct. 13, according to the Compañía de Turismo de Puerto Rico (CTPR). Metro Puerto Rico reported the figure was announced on Nov. 5 by CTPR executive director Willianette Robles Cancel.
The exhibition forms part of commemorative activities for the 75th Miss Universe edition, which will be held in Puerto Rico. It features 18 crowns used in different stages of the pageant, along with photographs, historical pieces, collectibles and items that illustrate its evolution. A special section is dedicated to the five Puerto Rican winners: Marisol Malaret, Deborah Carthy-Deu, Dayanara Torres, Denise Quiñones and Zuleyka Rivera. El Nuevo Día reported that the show is a joint effort of the government, the Miss Universe Organization, Plaza Las Américas, Miss Universe Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican Fashion History Council, which handled curatorship.

Official reactions
Robles Cancel said the interest shown “reaffirms the attractiveness of Miss Universe and the value of creating spaces that allow residents and visitors to be part of this historic celebration.” She added that the CTPR will continue initiatives that bring such events closer to the public and help position Puerto Rico as a world-class destination for entertainment tourism, WAPA reported.
Ronald Day, CEO of the Miss Universe Organization, stated that the reception in such a short time “demonstrates the enthusiasm that exists for Miss Universe and the affection that fans have for the pageant.” He added that it is exciting to see so many people enjoying the exhibition and reliving special moments from 75 years of history.
Visiting information
The exhibition is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and remains free of charge. It will close on Nov. 23, one day before the 75th Miss Universe final scheduled for Nov. 24 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot. All three outlets—Metro Puerto Rico, WAPA and El Nuevo Día—gave identical details on hours, location and closing date.
Where the sources differ
All three sources—Metro Puerto Rico, WAPA and El Nuevo Día—agree on the 27,700-visitor figure, the Oct. 13 opening date, the 23-day period, the 18 crowns, the five named Puerto Rican winners, the Nov. 23 closing date and the Nov. 24 final. Metro Puerto Rico alone names the full list of partner organizations including the Puerto Rican Fashion History Council as curator. WAPA and El Nuevo Día include slightly longer versions of Robles Cancel’s and Day’s quotes but report the same core facts without contradiction.
What the reports do not say
The reports do not provide a daily average attendance rate, the number of visitors on weekends versus weekdays, whether any paid or special events were held inside the exhibition, or how many of the 27,700 visitors were tourists versus local residents. They also do not state whether additional security or crowd-control measures have been implemented as the pageant final approaches.
