Trips change or get cancelled at short notice (weather, breakdowns, resident priority). Before you drive to Ceiba, check the alerts in the City Experiences app or at puertoricoferry.com.

Ferries to the island municipalities leave from one port on the main island: the Ceiba terminal at the former Roosevelt Roads base (Marina Dr.). They no longer leave from Fajardo. In Vieques they dock on Morropo Street; in Culebra, on Pedro Márquez Street.

Each passenger boards free with one small carry-on. Anything else is charged:

  • Beach cooler: $2.00
  • Beach chair: $1.00
  • Beach umbrella: $1.00

  • Bodyboard: $3.00
  • Caged pet: $2.00

Rules worth knowing

  • Get to the terminal an hour early; boarding closes 10 minutes before departure.
  • Sales are final. A ticket can be transferred up to twice, at least one hour before the trip.
  • The name on the ticket has to match your photo ID.
  • Pets other than service animals travel in a carrier.
  • For now only vehicles owned by Vieques or Culebra residents can board; visitors rent on the island.
  • The Vieques–Culebra route runs only on the last Sunday of each month, and the date can change.
