Upcoming Release
Bad Bunny and adidas Originals plan to launch a new edition of the Gazelle Indoor sneaker called Solar Gold on Saturday, Oct. 17. Puerto Rico Theme
Since reinterpreting the Gazelle in 2024, Bad Bunny has used the sneaker line to tell stories connected to Puerto Rico. LatinSpots.com reported the first blue “San Juan” edition paid homage to Casa Amadeo and cultural ties between Puerto Rico and its diaspora in New York.
In 2025, during his Puerto Rican residency, the Gazelle City Series featured green for El Yunque rainforest, orange for Santurce and pink for Cabo Rojo’s salt flats, LatinSpots.com stated. Billboard noted the releases reflect the artist’s theme of bringing Puerto Rican culture to a global audience.
Where the sources differ
Both Billboard and LatinSpots.com agree on the Oct. 17 launch date, $140 price, materials, sunset inspiration and the sequence of prior Gazelle releases honoring San Juan, El Yunque, Santurce and Cabo Rojo. Billboard adds availability details including the confirmed app and sign-up start on Oct. 13 plus Bad Bunny’s recent No. 1 ranking on Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Hot Latin Songs Artists; LatinSpots.com provides more detail on the 2025 campaign’s use of older Puerto Ricans and the “No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí” sentiment.
What the reports do not say
The reports do not specify which select retailers will carry the sneakers, exact worldwide availability times, production quantities, or whether additional colorways or apparel will accompany the Solar Gold release. They also do not mention any promotional events planned for the Oct. 17 launch day.
