Reference prices published

The Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO) published the update of reference prices for fuels on Oct. 30. Primera Hora reported. Regular gasoline should be around $1.10 to $1.15 per liter, while premium fluctuates between $1.24 and $1.35 per liter. Diesel reference price is between $1.46 and $1.50 per liter.

The persistence of high prices occurs at a time when electricity system subscribers face an increase of $42.27 in their monthly bill. The prices of fuels are subject to changes according to international oil market fluctuations and other factors such as the conflict in the Middle East.

Recommendations for drivers

The American Automobile Association offers several recommendations to reduce gasoline consumption and get more out of each tank, Primera Hora noted. The article did not list the specific tips.

Where the sources differ

The only reporting source used is Primera Hora, which provided all price ranges and context. NotiUno's podcast episode on Oct. 30 was listed but contained no specific facts on fuel prices in the available content and was not used. There are no conflicting figures between sources.

What the reports do not say

The reports do not specify the exact average price consumers are paying at pumps versus the reference range, the date of the last price change, the percentage increase in electricity bills or any government measures planned to address the combined cost pressures on households.
