Event details and beneficiary
The 12th edition of LOLA Challenge Weekend will take place from Nov. 6 to 8 with races of 5K, 10K and 21K. Most of the funds raised will go to the Hospital Oncológico Dr. Isaac González Martínez of the Liga Puertorriqueña Contra el Cáncer, Metro Puerto Rico reported. The details were presented on Tuesday during a press conference at the Genesis dealership in Plaza Las Américas. Actor and comedian Raymond Arrieta will serve as the official godfather of the edition.
Omayra Borges, president of Run Like a Lola Inc., said the choice of the Hospital Oncológico closes a circle because it was the first entity the group supported 15 years ago. The director of the Liga Puertorriqueña Contra el Cáncer, Odette Negrón, thanked the organizers for the selection, according to both Metro Puerto Rico and NotiCel.

New features and logistics
The arrival experience has been renewed at Parque del Tercer Milenio and the El Escambrón area, where music, art and activities will be offered as part of the After Race Experience. The races will be broadcast live on the event’s digital platforms, Metro Puerto Rico reported. The free Tren Urbano service from the Sagrado Corazón station, operated by the Autoridad de Transporte Integrado, will return; the system moved about 18,500 people in the previous edition.
Free private buses will also run from the area in front of Hotel Rumbao in Old San Juan to the starting points and back after each race. As part of the strategic alliance with New Balance, the last mile of the 5K, 10K and 21K routes will be called Milla New Balance, where the best times per category will be recognized. New Balance will also have a presence at the Health & Fitness Expo on Nov. 4 and 5 at Plaza Las Américas, according to both outlets.
Where the sources differ
Both Metro Puerto Rico and NotiCel agree on the dates, distances, beneficiary, Raymond Arrieta’s role, free transportation details, the number of people moved by the Tren Urbano last year, the New Balance alliance and the After Race Experience at El Escambrón. Metro Puerto Rico adds that the official shirt incorporates an element inspired by mundillo lace and that medal ribbons were designed by student Eva Bayona. NotiCel includes longer quotes from Borges and Negrón and mentions the Genesis lead car.
What the reports do not say
The reports do not state how much money is expected to be raised, the exact cost of registration, the precise routes of the races, or any target number of participants. They also do not mention whether the 2026 edition will include the four-challenge format referenced in the medal-ribbon description.
