Details of the operation

Two people were arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 13 during a police search warrant execution at a residence on Camino Pedro Martínez in Trujillo Alto. El Vocero reported the arrested individuals are Rafael J. Miranda Cruz, 42, and Jorkelly A. González, 31. Telemundo Puerto Rico reported the residence is located on highway PR-175, Camino Pedro Martínez.

During the intervention officers seized 1,555 small bags of cocaine, 19 larger bags containing cocaine, 13 bags with fentanyl, one bag with heroin, additional wrappings and containers with controlled substances, 930 pills and $135 in cash. Both El Vocero and Telemundo Puerto Rico gave matching figures for the drugs and cash.

Units involved and next steps

The operation was carried out with support from the Bayamón SWAT unit, the Carolina Motorized Unit, Technical Services and the K-9 Unit. El Vocero reported the investigation was handled by agents Miguel J. Candelaria Rivera and Andrés Espinal Torres under the supervision of Sgt. Luis C. Sanabria Vélez.

Both outlets stated the case will be consulted with the prosecutor on duty to decide whether criminal charges will be filed against the two arrested individuals. No additional details on possible charges or court appearance dates were provided.

Where the sources differ

El Vocero and Telemundo Puerto Rico agree on the names, ages and exact quantities of drugs, pills and cash seized, as well as the units that participated and that the case will go to the on-duty prosecutor. The only minor difference is that El Vocero describes the location as 'camino Pedro Martínez' while Telemundo Puerto Rico adds that it is on 'carretera PR-175, camino Pedro Martínez.' Both published on the same day with nearly identical information.

What the reports do not say

The reports do not state whether the two arrested individuals face specific charges yet, the exact weight or street value of the seized substances, if any firearms or other evidence were found, or when the suspects will appear in court. They also do not mention whether the operation was part of a larger ongoing investigation or if additional arrests are expected.
