Return to Broadway

Puerto Rican playwright and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda will return to Broadway with the new musical "Warriors," El Nuevo Día reported. Previews are scheduled to start on March 9, 2027, at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater in New York, with the official opening on April 8, 2027, according to both El Nuevo Día and El Vocero.

The production is co-written by Miranda and Pulitzer Prize finalist Eisa Davis. It is inspired by the 1979 cult film "The Warriors" directed by Walter Hill. The story follows a fictional gang from Coney Island wrongly accused of murdering a respected leader named Cyrus during a gathering in the Bronx. The group must cross a dangerous New York City to return to Brooklyn, prove their innocence and uphold Cyrus's vision of peace, El Nuevo Día reported.
