Early-morning response
San Juan Mayor Miguel A. Romero Lugo said the Municipal Police seized five firearms during an intervention early Sunday at the La Fría VIP business on Borinquen Avenue. The action followed a call reporting shots in the area around 4:15 a.m., NotiCel reported. When municipal and state agents arrived, two motorcycles sped away while shots were being fired. Officers pursued them but the occupants escaped.
While authorities remained at the scene, a woman approached an officer and confidentially reported that several friends inside the establishment were allegedly not permitted to leave and that there were armed individuals inside, according to all three outlets. Agents stayed outside while they verified the information.

Arrest and seizures
Around 6:05 a.m. a man opened the door and, according to preliminary information, punched a municipal police sergeant, leading to his arrest, El Vocero reported. Members of the Impact Unit then entered and seized two rifles and one pistol. Two vehicles were also seized after firearms were observed in plain view inside them, bringing the total to five weapons, Telemundo Puerto Rico stated.
The business received fines for violations of the Public Order Code and will be referred to the Permits Office for evaluation. Authorities said they will continue investigating the reported shots, the origin of the weapons and the other events of the morning.
Where the sources differ
All three sources agree on the time the complaint was received (approximately 4:15 a.m.), the sequence of events including the fleeing motorcycles, the woman's confidential report, the 6:05 a.m. arrest for punching a sergeant, the seizure of two rifles, one pistol and two vehicles for a total of five firearms, and the fines issued to the business. NotiCel and Telemundo Puerto Rico attribute identical quotes to Mayor Miguel A. Romero Lugo and Commissioner Juan Jackson; El Vocero paraphrases their remarks without direct quotation. No major numerical or factual conflicts appear.
What the reports do not say
The reports do not identify the man who was arrested, the specific types or calibers of the five seized firearms, whether any shots struck anyone or anything, the condition or ownership of the two seized vehicles, or the identities or number of people who were allegedly prevented from leaving the business. They also do not state whether anyone inside the establishment was charged beyond the one arrest or what the exact fines imposed on the business were.
