IVU vs tip
Puerto Rico's sales and use tax (IVU) is generally 11.5% on most retail purchases (10.5% central + 1% municipal), as reflected on our IVU calculator. Some certified restaurants use a reduced prepared-food rate for certain items. Tips are separate from tax. Confirm on your receipt.
