The short version

  • The San Juan Daily Star reported that Fransglobal announced on Wednesday it is accepting applications for positions at its Taco Maker, Marco’s Pizza and Panchitos restaurants
  • Fransglobal president Carlos Budet said the company stands in solidarity with workers affected by recent restaurant closures
  • Telemundo Puerto Rico reported that Taco Maker currently has 83 restaurants in Puerto Rico and expects to reach 85 by year end
  • Marco’s Pizza operates 62 locations while Panchitos has one at Plaza Las Américas according to both outlets

Hiring Announcement

Fransglobal said Wednesday that it is now taking applications for openings at its Taco Maker, Marco’s Pizza and Panchitos eateries. The San Juan Daily Star reported that the initiative arrives while staff from several other quick-service outlets lose their jobs because of closures across Puerto Rico. The San Juan Daily Star reported

Telemundo Puerto Rico carried the identical notice. Fransglobal president Carlos Budet released a written statement showing support for the impacted employees and their relatives. Both news organizations reported that every submission "will be evaluated based on open positions" and the requirements of each site.

Current Operations

According to The San Juan Daily Star, Taco Maker runs 83 outlets in Puerto Rico and expects to reach 85 sites by the end of the year. The outlet reported that Marco’s Pizza runs 62 restaurants while Panchitos keeps a single site at La Terraza inside Plaza Las Américas. Telemundo Puerto Rico reported the same figures.

The San Juan Daily Star reported that local business owners run the eateries for all three brands and keep commercial ties with suppliers and distributors based in Puerto Rico.

How to Apply

The San Juan Daily Star reported that those interested in Taco Maker positions can apply at www.tacomaker.com/empleos-tacomaker-puerto-rico. Applications for Marco’s Pizza are accepted online through the dedicated employment page for that brand in Puerto Rico, the outlet said.

According to The San Juan Daily Star, individuals interested in Panchitos positions may contact the Instagram account @panchitos.pr or send information to lortiz@fransglobal.com. Both the Daily Star and Telemundo Puerto Rico reported that the chains offer training programs and certifications.

Where the sources differ

The San Juan Daily Star and Telemundo Puerto Rico agree on all key facts including the Wednesday announcement, the quote from Carlos Budet, current restaurant counts for each brand, application methods and the existence of training programs. The only notable difference is that the English-language Daily Star published a full English version of Budet's statement while the Spanish-language Telemundo published it in Spanish; the content is otherwise identical.

What the reports do not say

The reports do not specify how many positions are available, what the specific job titles or salary ranges are, or how many workers have been laid off by the other chains. They also do not indicate when the hiring process will conclude or whether Fransglobal expects to add net new jobs beyond replacing any departures.
