Los Kioskos de Luquillo
The kioskos are a row of family-owned stalls on Calle Marginal, selling food, drinks and souvenirs. Discover Puerto Rico says they vary in style, taste and price, that all are open-air, and that some face the street while others look out at the beach. Our Luquillo Beach guide places them close by along PR-3, suggests grabbing frituras from the kiosks after a swim, and covers parking and the beach itself, and our street food guide covers the dishes.
- A Fuego. Fresh seafood, meats and regional dishes, and a Colombian side to the menu: bandeja paisa, empanadas and a Colombian sampler. Its menu is posted on its site. Phone (787) 534-3360.
- Edelweiss Bar & Grill. Kiosko #38, with creole food and seafood, a terrace and an air-conditioned area. It says it is pet friendly and does take-out. Its site lists hours of 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Phone (787) 355-0888.
Sit-down: Sama
Sama describes itself as a relaxed beach restaurant built around coastal cooking, fresh seafood, hard-to-find ingredients and stylish tropical cocktails. It is upstairs at the Luquillo Sunrise Beach Inn (A2 Costa Azul), from chef Erika Suárez. Hours on its site: Wednesday and Thursday 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.; Friday to Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 10 p.m.; closed Monday and Tuesday. Reservations: (787) 223-9773.
