15 Romantic Things To Do In Puerto Rico For Couples (2024)

Puerto Rico is where romance blooms!

The island is a popular destination for honeymoons, anniversaries and romantic getaways.

I grew up in Puerto Rico meaning that I know the best romantic spots. I made this list so you can enjoy your vacation with your significant other.

Below are the 15 most romantic things to do in Puerto Rico for couples:

1. Bioluminescent Bay Tour

This is the most magical thing that you can do in Puerto Rico.

image of Bioluminescense Bay
Puerto Rico is home to the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world.

Bioluminescent Bays are naturally occurring bays that have a very high concentration of bioluminescent plankton. When you disturb the water, these plankton emit light.

This creates a magical effect that only exists in a few locations worldwide, and Puerto Rico has three of them.

Booking a bio bay kayaking tour is the perfect way for couples to enjoy the experience together.

Below is a video showing Mosquito Bio Bay in Vieques, Puerto Rico:

2. Flamenco Beach

image of Flamenco Beach
Flamenco Beach is rated as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Beach dates are always a good idea, but Flamenco Beach is on a whole other level.

There’s a water taxi that takes you to Culebra, where you’ll find the whitest sands and bluest waters Puerto Rico has to offer.

Visiting here is at least a one-day event, so make sure to set aside enough time to really enjoy one of the best beaches in the world.

A unique feature of the beach is the rusted war tank right on the water.

3. Hiking in El Yunque National Forest

Adventurous couples who enjoy hiking can visit Puerto Rico’s rainforest, known as El Yunque National Forest.

Most trails lead to waterfalls where couples can swim and relax.
